You Deserve what you Tolerate

The year 2025 will always stand out to me, not just for the elections themselves, but for a simple, yet profoundly powerful phrase I heard echoing through the campaign trails: " You deserve what you tolerate. " It hit me differently. Like many Filipinos, I've often felt a mix of frustration and resignation when it comes to politics. We complain about the perennial problems, the unfulfilled promises, the cycle of disappointment. Yet, when given the chance to choose, or when faced with difficult decisions, do we truly act on our discontent? Or do we, in our quiet corners, simply tolerate what we're given? This mantra became my compass during those elections. It wasn't about blindly supporting a candidate but about looking inward. Am I willing to tolerate incompetence, corruption, or indifference?
